NEW NOMINATE FOR TANZANIA TRAVEL AWARD:TANZANIA NOMINATED FOR THE 23RDANNUAL WORLD TRAVEL AWARDS

Tanzania has registered ten (10) entriesunder nine (9) categories in the World nominations2016 for the World Travel Awards organized by the World Travel Awardsthat will take place on 2ndDecember 2016 at the Olhuveli Beach & Spa Resort in the Republic of Maldives. Under the  Africa nominations 2016, thirty two (32) entries for Tanzania have been recorded under 17 categories.
The winner of this competition will be decided by votes.Voting for the World and Travel Technology nominations opens online on Friday, 23rd September 2016 and will end on Monday, 24th October 2016. The voters will be travel professionals and consumers with a vote cast by qualifying travel professionals carrying a weighting of two votes.
“We are delighted to inform you of your nomination in the 23rd annual World Travel Awards and I congratulate your achievement” says Graham Cooke, the President of World Travel Awards.
Tanzania’s ten entries with their categories in brackets are: Tanzania(World’s Leading Safari Destination 2016); Zanzibar-Tanzania (World’s Leading Dive Destination 2016); Zanzibar – Tanzania(World Leading Island Destination); and Mt. Kilimanjaro-Tanzania (World’s Leading tourist attraction).
Others are: Diamond La Gemma dell’Est Zanzibar -Tanzania (World’s Leading Beach resorts 2016);Essque Zalu Zanzibar – Tanzania (World’s Honeymoon Resort 2016); &Beyond Mnemba Island Lodge-Tanzaniaand Singita Sasakwa Lodge – Tanzania (World’s Leading Luxury Lodge 2016);&Beyond Mnembo Island Lodge Zanzibar – Tanzania(World’s Leading Private Island Resort 2016) and Chumbe Island Coral Park – Tanzania (World’s Leading Conservation Company).
This comes five months after Mount Kilimanjaro which is the highest mountain in Africa, and the highest free-standing mountain in the world, being declared Africa’s leading tourist attraction in 2016 during the World Travel Awards Africa and Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony held in Zanziba Tanzania on 9th April 2016.

NEW TOURISM BOOST:New Dar set for 5.7bn/- Tourism boost by 2025

TANZANIA is expected to receive an increase of 1,632,000 international tourists by 2025 following a new operator agreement signed between Travelport, a travel commerce platform, with TP Services Limited in Tanzania.
The tourism boom will lead to generating expenditure of 5,702.7b an increase of 5.8 per cent per annum.
The agreement among others is set to see the local partner exclusively use Travelport technology in the country to support the country’s travel and tourism industry drive through leveraging travel commerce platform that would be redefining travel commerce.
 “We are confident that TP Services will strengthen and invigorate our business partnerships in Tanzania as they herald a new era of Travelport operations in Tanzania.” Said President and Managing Director of Europe, Middle East, Africa and South Asia Travelport.
The agreement signed recently will see Tanzania’s travel agencies benefit from the complete package of Travelport’s leading technology and solutions, reaping from innovative point of sale, travelport Smartpoint.
The award-winning desktop technology allows travel local agents to search, sell and book itineraries more effectively, significantly improves efficiency of their work and provides agents with increased opportunities for upselling.
TP Service Country Manager Sarfarazali Chagani said that the  operator agreement marks a new chapter for the travel industry in Tanzania, with the new leadership team officially introduced to the country’s travel industry leaders at a business gala held in the earlier the month.
With travel and tourism forecast to support almost 12 per cent of employment in Tanzania by 20251, the event also allowed the attending delegates to learn about Travelport’s newly appointed operator’s strategy in supporting the growth of their travel agency business partners in Tanzania’s through Travelport’s industry defining technology.
TP services laid out plans to heighten travel agent experience and satisfaction of Travelport’s technology by offering enhanced service support and tailored product recommendations for local travel agencies.
TP Services will distribute Travelport’s unrivalled content including fares from approximately 400 airlines globally, branded fares and ancillaries as well as over 650,000 unique hotels properties worldwide fully bookable in Travelport’s travel commerce platform.
“Travelport has all the right tools, as well as unrivalled leading content to support the development of Tanzania’s travel industry and deliver cutting edge solutions to local travel agencies to grow their businesses,” noted Mr Chagani.
Travelport is redefining travel commerce, investing over $830 million since 2012 in new technology with a clear focus on redefining travel commerce and TP Services is here to champion it amongst Tanzanian travellers.

Naibu Waziri wa Habari, Utamaduni, Sanaa na Michezo Mhe.Anastazia James Wambura ametoa agizo kwa wasanii nchini kuhakikisha wanasajili kazi zao katika Baraza la Sanaa la Taifa (BASATA) ili watambulike kwa mujibu wa Sheria.
Agizo hilo amelitoa jana Jijini Dar es Salaam  alipokuwa anazindua Tamasha la Siku ya Msanii Duniani lilioandaliwa na Baraza la Taifa la Sanaa (BASATA) ambapo amewaahidi wasanii kuwa wakijisajili watatambulika  na itakuwa rahisi kwa Serikali kujua changamoto wanazozipata na kuzitatua kwa urahisi.
“Napenda mtambue kwamba suala la Urasimishaji linakwenda sambamba na uwepo wa Haki Miliki ya kazi za ubunifu, nawashauri mtunze Haki Miliki zenu na msiziuze na wale wabunifu  wapya na ambao hamjasajili kazi zenu nawaomba mfanye hivyo ili kuepuka uharamia”.Alisisitiza Mhe. Anastazia.
Aidha Mhe.Naibu Waziri amewaomba wadau wote wa Sanaa kutoa maoni yao katika kuboresha tasnia hii yenye kubeba maeneo kama Muziki, Filamu, Maonyesho, Ususi, na Uchoraji ili kuwezesha tasnia hii kujulikana na  kuboresha mapato ya Wasanii.
Kwa upande wake Katibu Mtendaji wa Baraza la Sanaa la Taifa (BASATA) Bw. Godfrey Muingereza amewataka Wasanii kutunza vibali wanavyopatiwa na Baraza hilo kwani ndio utambulisho wao popote wanapokuwa na inakuwa rahisi wao kusaidiwa wanapopata changamoto.
“Wengi wenu mmejisajili lakini wale wachache ambao bado naomba mfanye hivyo ili sisi tuwatambue na Sheria ya  Haki Miliki pia iwatambue”.Aliongeza Bw.Muingereza.
Naye Msanii wa Uchongaji Bibi Hapiness Mmbaga amewashauri wanawake kupenda fani hiyo na kuacha dhana inayosema kuwa kazi hiyo ni kwa ajili ya wanaume tu kwani ulimwengu wa sasa umebadilika hakuna tena kuchagua aina ya kazi ya kufanya.
Tamasha la siku ya Msanii duniani linaadhimishwa kwa mara tatu mfululizo ambalo linalenga kuthamini mchango wa kazi za Sanaa hapa nchini ambao kauli mbiu yake  ni “Nguvu ya Sanaa”na kilele chake itakuwa ni tarehe 26 mwezi oktoba mwaka huu.
